Tonight’s episode of *EastEnders* will see a major twist in Sonia Jackson’s (Natalie Cassidy) trial for the murder of Debbie, a crime she did not commit.

With Sonia convinced she’s heading to jail, she has already decided to change her plea to guilty, hoping for a more lenient sentence.
However, what Sonia doesn’t know is that the real killer is none other than Reiss (Jonny Freeman),
her fiancé, who has been fighting for her freedom while hiding the truth of his involvement in Debbie’s death.

As the storyline intensifies, viewers are finally discovering the true extent of Reiss’s web of lies.

Not only is he responsible for Debbie’s murder, but he has also been holding Bianca (Patsy Palmer) hostage in a storage container since Christmas,

keeping her fed and under lock and key while he continues his manipulative plan. In recent episodes, Bianca has grown desperate, knowing that her only hope of escape is to help Sonia. But in a dramatic twist, she suggests to Reiss that she should confess to Debbie’s murder in order to clear Sonia’s name.
This dangerous idea becomes the centerpiece of Reiss’s new plan. At first, he dismisses Bianca’s suggestion, but after an unexpected conversation with Ruby (Louisa Lytton) in the Square, Reiss decides to take the risk and asks Bianca to record a confession. He even writes out a statement for her to read, but when Bianca goes over the script, she realizes it’s full of unfamiliar words that don’t sound like something she would say. Still, with little choice but to comply if she wants her freedom, Bianca reluctantly agrees to go along with Reiss’s scheme.
The scene unfolds with high tension as Bianca records the false confession, fully aware that she is jeopardizing her own future and the future of Sonia in the process. Reiss, determined to use the video to free Sonia, races to the courthouse, where Sonia is about to change her plea in a bid to take responsibility for a crime she didn’t commit. However, when Reiss arrives at the court, he learns that things are not as simple as he had hoped.

While the court proceedings are momentarily adjourned, Sonia isn’t immediately released, as Reiss had anticipated. Her lawyer informs him that the video confession from Bianca needs to be verified before it can be presented as evidence. This means that Sonia must return to court the following day, and it could take months before she is officially released from jail. Reiss’s frustration and anxiety begin to mount as he realizes that his plan is unraveling, leaving him with no choice but to escalate his tactics.
In a panic, Reiss takes a drastic step, cornering one of the jury members and forcing her to watch Bianca’s confession video in the hopes of influencing her decision. This shocking move adds another layer of drama to the already tense situation, as Reiss desperately tries to ensure that the jury member believes the fabricated confession, which he hopes will sway the verdict in Sonia’s favor.
However, this underhanded tactic raises the stakes even higher. Jack (Scott Maslen) and Martin (James Bye), two of Sonia’s closest allies, are immediately suspicious of Bianca’s confession. They don’t believe that Bianca is confessing to the crime out of the goodness of her heart and are convinced that she is merely doing it to protect her sister. This suspicion further complicates Reiss’s already precarious position, as he is now at risk of being exposed not only as the murderer but also as a manipulative criminal who will stop at nothing to protect his secrets.

As the episode comes to a close, the question remains: Will Reiss’s desperate plan work, or has he dug himself into an even deeper hole? By forcing a jury member to watch the video, has he made a fatal mistake that could result in an innocent person being convicted? With the tension mounting and the future of several characters hanging in the balance, *EastEnders* is setting the stage for what promises to be a gripping and dramatic conclusion to this dark and twisted storyline.
Reiss’s actions are beginning to show just how far he is willing to go to hide his guilt, and it’s clear that his schemes are only going to become more dangerous as the story unfolds. With Sonia still facing the possibility of prison time, and Reiss’s lies threatening to unravel at any moment, viewers can expect even more shocking twists in the weeks ahead. Will justice finally prevail, or will Reiss succeed in manipulating his way out of his deadly past? Only time will tell.
