Sebastian Roché says General Hospital is “completely in the past” for him and admits he feels ‘awful’ having to relive the painful memories from his time there.

Sebastian Roché has officially closed the door on his General Hospital days—for now.

The actor, best known to soap fans for his role as the villainous Jerry Jacks, recently shared that he has no immediate plans to return to the long-running ABC daytime drama.

While reflecting on his time in Port Charles, Roché made it clear that he’s now focused on new creative ventures, both in front of and behind the camera.

General Hospital Is in the Rearview Mirror

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Roché opened up about his tenure on General Hospital, describing it as a fond but distant memory.

The actor, now 60, portrayed Jerry Jacks from 2007 to 2015, making a lasting impression on fans with his portrayal of the ruthless and unpredictable character.

“I think it’s firmly in the past. It was a great memory,” Roché shared. “It was a great experience, but now I’m really in the creative.” Despite his firm stance on moving forward, he didn’t completely shut down the idea of a return, playfully suggesting that he could reprise the role many years from now. “Who knows … Grandpa Jack. You never know,” he joked.

His wife, Cobra Kai actress Alicia Hannah-Kim, chimed in with a witty remark, adding, “We’ll schedule it in for 2060.”

While Roché may not be planning a comeback, General Hospital fans know that Jerry Jacks’ story is far from over. The character was last seen escaping prison after a string of crimes, leaving his whereabouts unknown. With the door still open for a return, the possibility remains that Jerry could resurface in Port Charles when viewers least expect it.

New Creative Pursuits: Writing, Producing, and More

Though his soap opera days may be behind him, Roché remains deeply engaged in the entertainment industry. Alongside his wife, he is shifting his focus toward writing, producing, and directing. The couple has even launched their own production company, Victoria House, which will serve as a platform for their creative endeavors.

“We have a lot of plans—Ali producing and writing, and me writing and continuing to act,” Roché revealed.

As he moves forward with this new chapter, Roché is eager to explore more behind-the-scenes roles while continuing his on-screen career. His passion for storytelling and filmmaking signals an exciting evolution for the veteran actor.

Dreaming Big: The Taylor Sheridan Connection

While Roché is stepping away from daytime television, he remains enthusiastic about his work in primetime. He recently starred in 1923, the Yellowstone prequel from creator Taylor Sheridan, and described the experience as a dream come true.

“Just being on set, I was pinching myself in costume on horseback,” he recalled.

Roché expressed his admiration for Sheridan’s storytelling and hinted that he would love to collaborate with the acclaimed writer-director again.

“I would love to do another one of Taylor Sheridan’s 25,000 shows,” he joked.

For Roché, working on 1923 was a full-circle moment, bringing him back to the cinematic dreams of his youth.

“It really is a dream come true in terms of a young French boy growing up near Paris, watching American movies, and then here I am … on a massive set of a Western with an extraordinary part and an extraordinary journey in my character,” he reflected.

With 1923 set to return for its highly anticipated second season on February 23 on Paramount+, Roché is excited to see how the story unfolds. While he remains tight-lipped about plot details, he teased that the upcoming episodes will be just as compelling as the first season.

What’s Next for Sebastian Roché?

Although Roché may have left General Hospital behind, his career is far from slowing down. With a growing presence in film and television, a new production company, and a continued passion for storytelling, the actor is set to embark on exciting new projects.

While fans of Jerry Jacks may be disappointed that a return isn’t on the horizon, they can still catch Roché in his latest ventures. Whether on horseback in a Western or behind the camera directing a new project, Roché is embracing the next phase of his career with enthusiasm.

For now, General Hospital remains in the past, but in the unpredictable world of soaps, anything is possible. Until then, Roché is looking ahead—ready to take on whatever comes next.
