Sam Aston, widely known for his long-running role as Chesney Brown on Coronation Street, is now carving a new path on the ice as he competes on Dancing on Ice. 

The actor, who has been part of the iconic ITV soap since 2003, is skating his way into the hearts of viewers with his professional partner, Molly Lanaghan.

His sister Emily Aston had her own notable stint on Coronation Street, appearing as Rebecca Palmer in 51 episodes from 1996 to 1997. “It’s a hard thing to process,” Briony said, reflecting on the mixed emotions of mourning the twin they lost while also feeling thankful for the healthy pregnancy they were fortunate to have. She also described how the condition, which involves one fetus ceasing to develop and being absorbed by the mother’s body, explained some of the severe symptoms she had been experiencing, like extreme fatigue.

Sadly, in July 2023, Briony faced another miscarriage. She shared her experience on social media, revealing her pain while also offering support to others who had gone through similar losses. Briony’s message was both raw and comforting, highlighting the importance of community and open conversations surrounding miscarriage and pregnancy loss. “It’s heartbreaking and it’s unfair. But I’m not seeking sympathy,” she shared, emphasizing the power of sharing her story to help others heal.

Coping and Support

Both Sam and Briony have shown incredible resilience in the face of such tragedies. Sam, speaking on Loose Women, explained how challenging it was to witness his wife’s pain, though he acknowledged that he could never fully understand the physical toll it took on her. Despite feeling “a bit naive” about how common miscarriages are, Sam expressed his pride in Briony for being open about their losses, encouraging others to speak out and seek support.

Through all the ups and downs, Sam and Briony have leaned on each other and their supportive family. They have been transparent about their journey, using their platform to offer comfort and strength to those going through similar experiences. Sam’s strength as both an actor and a father shines through in his personal life, and his vulnerability in discussing his family’s struggles only deepens his connection with his fans.
