has launched a fundraiser after a devastating break-in at a local hospice. 

Overgate Hospice in Elland, a charity dedicated to providing palliative care, was recently targeted by cruel thieves who caused significant damage and stole valuable items. 

The actress is now urging the community to come together and help restore what was lost, with the goal of supporting the hospice and showing solidarity during this challenging time.

The break-in occurred in the early hours of January 5, 2025, when thieves broke into the hospice’s Big Build hub, which houses essential spaces for both patients and staff.

including damage to the garden hub, garden counselling pod, and spiritual space. Several important items were stolen, including computers, a large TV screen, a kettle, and even bottles of alcohol. The robbery disrupted vital services at the hospice, particularly counselling sessions, which were directly affected by the theft of equipment.

The break-in was first noticed by night staff, who spotted the intruders on the premises and quickly contacted the police. In a brave act of care and caution, the staff members remained by the beds of patients, ensuring their safety in case the thieves attempted to enter the main hospice building. Overgate Hospice shared that they were grateful for the swift response of local businesses and community members who helped secure the building and repair lighting to ensure the hospice could continue its operations.
