Tom King’s unexpected return to Emmerdale has reignited tensions, particularly for

following his imprisonment for coercive control, emotional abuse, and physical 

violence against Belle. However, in a shocking twist, he made his comeback just as 

Belle was preparing to finalize her divorce from him. Despite her determination to sever all ties, Tom remained adamant about trying to salvage their toxic relationship.

Belle visited him in prison, hoping to put the past behind her for good. But for Tom, her visit was an opportunity to manipulate her once again. James Chase, who portrays Tom, had previously spoken about his departure from the show, acknowledging the impact of his character’s villainous arc. “Obviously, all good things have to come to an end,” he said, reflecting on his exit. “It’s sad to walk away from so many nice people on Emmerdale. I have made so many great friends and I am going to miss them all a lot. After we finished on my last day, I did choke up.”

He also shared how the cast and crew made his departure memorable, with a heartfelt farewell. “Everyone had gathered to say goodbye and they asked me to make a speech. I found myself starting to choke up because you suddenly realize it really is coming to an end,” he admitted. Co-star Jim Hooton, who plays Sam Dingle, had high praise for his performance, telling him he had portrayed an “iconic villain” and should be proud.
