This week in Port Charles, explosive events sent shockwaves through the lives of General Hospital’s most prominent characters. 

From devastating betrayals to life-threatening situations, the episodes airing January 6-10, 2025, kept fans on the edge of their seats.  

Monday, January 6: Michael’s World Ignites  

The week began with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) reeling after receiving divorce papers during her trip to Washington, D.C. Distraught, 

she sought comfort from Drew (Cameron Mathison), who assured her that Michael (Chad Duell) wouldn’t take their children. 

Meanwhile, in Port Charles, Michael updated Sonny (Maurice Benard) about his crumbling marriage.  

Elsewhere, Carly (Laura Wright) vented her frustration over Willow’s betrayal to Jason (Steve Burton). 

But just as Jason and Sonny stepped into the hallway to discuss business, a bomb was planted inside Sonny’s penthouse, sparking a devastating blaze with Michael still inside.  

As the flames consumed the penthouse, other dramas unfolded. Trina (Tabyana Ali) helped Josslyn (Eden McCoy) pack Dex’s belongings, only for Joss to uncover a hidden gun. At General Hospital, Brad (Parry Shen) confronted Cyrus (Jeff Kober) over his actions against Britt (ex-Kelly Thiebaud), leading to Portia (Brook Kerr) banning Cyrus from the hospital. Meanwhile, Lucy (Lynn Herring) welcomed Sidwell (Carlo Rota) as the new resident of Wyndemere, setting the stage for future intrigue.  

Wednesday, January 8: Michael’s Fate Uncertain  

After Jason managed to extinguish the flames engulfing Michael, he rushed him to General Hospital. Lucas (Van Hansis) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) worked tirelessly to save him, but Michael’s injuries were severe, leaving Carly and his family fearing the worst.  

Meanwhile, Josslyn discovered the extent of Michael’s condition while examining the gun she found in Dex’s belongings. At the same time, Drew and Willow gave in to their emotions, further complicating the tangled web of relationships.  

Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Chase (Josh Swickard) confided in Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) about their struggles to conceive, while Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) reflected on her own experiences and past decisions.  

Thursday, January 9: Family Divisions Deepen  

As Michael remained unconscious in the burn unit, tensions ran high. Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) advised Carly and Josslyn to seek custody of Michael’s children, given Willow’s recent actions. When Josslyn crossed paths with Willow, their confrontation revealed just how deeply emotions were running.  

Sonny and Jason investigated the scene of the explosion, while Anna (Finola Hughes) arrived to take Jason’s statement. Meanwhile, Chase was called to assist Diane in pursuing custody of Michael’s children. In the chapel, Carly and Drew faced off in a heated argument about Michael’s condition and their respective roles in his life.  

Kristina (Kate Mansi), unable to bear seeing her brother in such a state, confided in Sonny on the hospital roof. As Jason sat vigil at Michael’s bedside, the injured man briefly regained consciousness, groaning in pain from his extensive burns.  

Friday, January 10: A Chilling Twist  

The week ended with Cyrus delivering a sinister blow. Sneaking into Michael’s room, he injected him with digitalis, vowing that his suffering would soon end. Elsewhere, Carly and Drew clashed over Michael’s care, and Willow took decisive action, asserting herself as Michael’s health proxy to regain control of her children’s future.  

Sasha, visibly shaken by Michael’s accident, rushed to his side, finding solace in Jason’s support. Meanwhile, dinner at the Port Charles Grille brought more drama as Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Diane discussed the Corinthos divorce case, only to be interrupted by Ric (Rick Hearst).
