Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd has revealed that he and his fiancée Hanni Treweek recently had their first argument over wedding planning.

The couple, who got engaged last year after seven years together, are set to tie the knot later in 2024.
However, their wedding preparations hit a stumbling block
when Jack balked at the unexpected costs involved—particularly when it came to outfitting the children in their wedding party.

Wedding Planning Disagreement

Jack opened up about the dispute while chatting with his Corrie co-stars Colson Smith and Ben Price on their On the Sofa podcast.

He explained that, until this point, everything had been smooth sailing in terms of wedding decisions.
“We have actually had the first argument of the wedding,” he admitted. “Everything before this, it’s been, ‘We’re agreeing on everything.’”
But things took a turn when Jack discovered the financial burden of providing outfits for his nieces and nephews who would be part of the wedding procession.
The Cost of Dressing the Wedding Party
Jack had envisioned his younger relatives wearing matching outfits for the big day, but he hadn’t realized the full cost would fall on him and Hanni.
“I didn’t know that, as the bride and groom, you have to pay for all their suits and costumes,” he said.
Colson was quick to respond, teasing Jack about his lack of wedding budgeting knowledge.

“You have to pay for everything, pal. You pay for mine and Ben’s suits,” he reminded him.
While Jack acknowledged he could rent suits for his groomsmen, he was less convinced about doing the same for the children, fearing they’d ruin them by the end of the day.
“What do kids do at weddings? They mess up their suits. They do the Peter Kay kneeslide, so you have to pay for them,” he pointed out.
To make matters worse, Jack comes from a large family. With multiple nieces and nephews from both his brother and sister, plus his own two children, there were ten children to outfit.
Drawing the Line on Expenses
Colson initially estimated the cost would be at least £1,000, but Jack feared it would be far more once shoes and accessories were factored in. That’s when he decided he couldn’t justify the expense.
“I was like, ‘I’m not doing it, I can’t do it, I don’t like them that much,’” he joked.

Hanni, however, believed they had no choice but to foot the bill. This led Jack to take decisive action—he put his foot down in the family WhatsApp group, informing everyone that they’d have to cover the cost of their own children’s wedding outfits.
The Outcome: A Compromise
Luckily for Jack, his siblings were understanding and agreed to pay for their own kids’ clothing.
“We had a bit of a do, but we’ve sorted it out,” he said. “It’s the first disagreement. She was saying we have to, but I said there’s too many of them.”
While he refused to cover the cost of the children’s outfits, Jack did agree to pay for the bridesmaids’ dresses, as well as wedding-day pyjamas and slippers. However, he couldn’t help but joke about the sheer expense of it all.

“If Elon Musk looked at it, he’d go, ‘Really?’” he quipped.
Excitement for the Big Day
Despite this small hiccup, Jack and Hanni’s wedding is still on track, and the actor remains excited for their big day. Fans will be eagerly awaiting updates as the wedding approaches, especially after this amusing glimpse into the behind-the-scenes planning.
While wedding stress is common for any couple, it seems Jack and Hanni have navigated their first challenge with humor and compromise—setting the stage for a memorable wedding later this year.
