EastEnders SHOCK: Is Sonia’s mental state a cause for concern? She keeps staring at her newborn daughter in fear—because the baby looks too much like Reiss! With no one listening to her, Sonia takes Julia to the burnt-down Queen Vic… but what is she planning to do?

Sonia Fowler continues to struggle as she tries to rebuild her life following the traumatic

events of the Queen Vic explosion. In the aftermath of the disaster, she has found it difficult to move forward, especially as she and her sister, Bianca Jackson, are still dealing with the emotional scars left behind. Their pain is further compounded by the loss of Reiss Colwell,

who perished in the collapse of the pub. His death, despite the turmoil he caused in their lives, has left lingering questions and unresolved emotions for both sisters.

In tonight’s episode, Sonia attempted to find a moment of joy as she and her loved ones gathered to celebrate baby Julia’s discharge from the hospital. The occasion was meant to be a happy one, a fresh start for Sonia and her daughter after everything they had been through. Friends and family came together at Sonia’s home, eager to give Julia the warm welcome she deserved.

For a brief time, Sonia allowed herself to relax, enjoying the company of those closest to her. However, even in the midst of the celebration, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. Confiding in Lauren Branning, Sonia admitted that celebrating without Martin just didn’t feel right. His absence loomed over her, making it difficult to fully embrace the moment.

As if the emotions of the day weren’t already weighing heavily on Sonia, Bianca made an awkward comment that soured the mood even further. While admiring baby Julia, Bianca innocently remarked that she looked more like Reiss than Sonia. The room immediately fell into an uncomfortable silence. Realizing what she had just said, Bianca hesitated, attempting to backtrack.

“When I first picked her up, I just thought she really looked like…” she started, trailing off as she sensed the tension in the room.

Sonia, her patience already worn thin, demanded that Bianca finish her sentence. “Finish what you were gonna say,” she pressed, her voice filled with frustration. Bianca, visibly embarrassed, quickly tried to brush it off. “I actually wasn’t going to say anything,” she insisted.

The tension between the sisters had been building for some time, especially after Bianca forgot to pick Sonia up from the hospital earlier in the week. Though they had managed to mend things temporarily when Bianca opened up about suffering from panic attacks following her kidnapping, their relationship remained fragile.

Later, unable to let Bianca’s comment go, Sonia confronted her about it.

“I just don’t think before I speak,” Bianca admitted, recognizing that she had struck a nerve.

But Sonia wasn’t satisfied. She needed to know—did Bianca really believe that Julia looked like Reiss? After a moment of hesitation, Bianca carefully responded, saying that there was bound to be some resemblance between Julia and her late father.

This response only deepened Sonia’s frustration. The emotions bubbling beneath the surface became too much to contain, and their argument escalated. As their voices grew louder, baby Julia woke up, crying in distress. Bianca immediately offered to help, but Sonia, overwhelmed and upset, snapped at her to leave them alone.

Realizing she had been too harsh, Sonia later apologized. She admitted that she was struggling, not just with the reality of raising a baby on her own, but with the sadness of knowing that Julia would never have the chance to meet Martin. She felt an aching sense of loss, knowing that her daughter would never know the man who had been such a significant part of her life.

In a rare moment of tenderness, Bianca reassured her sister, reminding her that she was an amazing mother. She promised that Julia would grow up knowing all about her uncle, even if he couldn’t be there in person. It was a small but meaningful moment between them, offering a brief sense of comfort amidst the turmoil.

However, just as Sonia began to regain some composure, a new source of distress emerged. After Bianca left to go to the shops, Sonia received a phone call that left her visibly shaken. Though the soap did not reveal the identity of the caller, Sonia’s reaction suggested that the conversation was deeply upsetting. Given the timing, there is speculation that the call may have been related to Reiss’s funeral.

Whatever the nature of the call, one thing is clear—Sonia’s struggles are far from over. While she is trying her best to move forward, the ghosts of her past continue to haunt her, making it nearly impossible to find peace. As she navigates the challenges ahead, viewers can only wait to see what new revelations and emotional hurdles lie in store for her.
