saying goodbye to her on-screen family is proving to be particularly difficult. 

The 39-year-old star, best known for playing Shona Platt since 2016,

has opened up about her heartbreak as some of her closest co-stars prepare to depart from the long-running ITV soap.

With multiple actors set to exit Coronation Street in the coming months, Julia has expressed sadness over the departures of Paddy Bever, 

who portrays Max Turner, and Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley.

An Emotional Farewell to Paddy Bever

Paddy Bever has played Max Turner since 2021, taking over the role from Harry McDermott. His character has been at the center of intense storylines, from his involvement with a far-right gang to his recent arson plot that nearly destroyed the Platt family home. As his time on the cobbles draws to a close, Julia admits she is finding it hard to say goodbye.

Speaking to the ECHO and other press, Julia shared:

“Devastated. I love Paddy so much, and I could actually be his mother, it’s ridiculous.”

She went on to praise the young actor, expressing confidence that he has a bright future ahead of him. While Paddy’s departure has yet to air, fans are eagerly awaiting how his character’s exit will unfold, especially with Max’s upcoming sentencing for arson.

Julia also voiced her hope that Max could one day return to Coronation Street, leaving the door open for a possible comeback.

“He’s got a very bright future ahead of him, and I would love to see him come back at some point, but I don’t know where his life is going to take him. Really sad to lose him.”

“And Charlie, don’t even get me started. I’m furious with her for leaving. I’m losing all of my mates.”

“We’ve known each other for 20 years. It’s wonderful having her here,” she said.

“I did ask [show boss] Kate [Brooks] if we possibly could at some point. She’s wonderful and is perfect for Corrie.”
