Coronation Street fans are expressing their disappointment and concern following recent reports that Sue Devaney’s character, 

Debbie Webster, is set to be written out of the show in 2025 in a dramatic and heartbreaking storyline. 

Although ITV has not officially confirmed these rumors, reports suggest that Debbie will be diagnosed with dementia, leading to her eventual exit. 

The news has sparked an outcry among fans, who are calling for the beloved character to stay on the cobbles,

Sue Devaney, who has portrayed Kevin Webster’s sister on and off for over four decades, was reportedly shocked when she learned about the planned storyline. 

Despite her surprise, Sue has shown her unwavering support for the show and its cast. She even expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue working on Coronation Street, which has seen a lot of speculation surrounding a so-called “cast cull” and rumored tensions within the production.

Actor Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, took to social media to address some of the negative press about the show. On Instagram, he clarified, “I’d just like to say that the show is not on its knees, and there is most certainly not a cast revolt as one article has said. Please don’t believe everything you read. I for at least one cast member am extremely happy and feel very grateful to still be working on Coronation Street.”
