Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) is currently walking free while partner Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) sits in jail for his crime, but fear not, as an EastEnders legend may be set to finally expose him.
Sinister Reiss shocked us all when he smothered beloved wife Debbie to death with a pillow earlier this year, after learning that he was in debt to the care home she was living at.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, it was poor Sonia who was arrested for the crime, and when given the opportunity to come clean, Reiss kept his mouth shut.
Now he is doing all he can to get Sonia out of prison while also keeping himself in the clear – something that isn’t going as well as he’d hoped.
In upcoming scenes, things get even worse for hapless Reiss when Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) returns to the Square, interrupting his eulogy for Debbie to demand answers on Sonia’s current situation.
‘Before she left the Square, Bianca felt that something wasn’t right with Reiss, and he was up to something,’ actress Patsy Palmer explained. ‘She was putting two-and-two together after getting little clues about him here and there, and she was right!
‘Now she’s found out that her sister is in jail for the murder of Reiss’ wife, and she’s on a mission to prove Sonia is innocent.
‘I think Bianca is a pretty good judge of character. Even though she can be quite chaotic, but she’s got a high level of intuition about things. Bianca is the only person who has been paying attention to all the red flags about Reiss.’
They take the conversation back to No.25, where Bianca continues her interrogation of Reiss until he grows too overwhelmed and flees.
It isn’t long before Bianca accuses Reiss of murdering Debbie, and later doubles down on her belief by antagonising him in the hopes of getting some answers.
‘She believes Sonia is innocent, but she does have a millisecond of doubt here and there and wonders if she’s wrong about all of this,’ Patsy teased. ‘But not more than a millisecond. Bianca is totally convinced that Reiss killed Debbie.’
Will Bianca be able to save Sonia by driving Reiss to confess?
